This Facebook page was randomly posting messages since 2013 regarding the alleged death of actor and comedian Jim Carrey. This page described that “our beloved comedian actor Jim Carrey died due to plane crash accident. He was born on 17^th January 1962. People will not forget him. Please show your kindness and condolences by liking and commenting this page.

The messages indicated the common likableness of scams which were originated from Facebook pages and posted sensational messages and photographs with a request of “Likes” in order to bring more traffic on these pages. The photograph posted in the discussed Facebook page indicated that Jim Carrey had died in 2016 and attached a claim that famous comedian actor died in a snowboarding accident. Point to be noted that the claim of “Snowboarding accident” was circulating since 2012. This claim was initially published by a rumor for death hoax “Global Associated News”. The death hoax of Jim Carrey boosted from a bizarre posting on a website “Necropedia”. This post was published on 30^th April 2016 and this post mentioned that Jim Carrey passed away on 1^st May 2016. It was false due to mentioning future date for the death of Jim Carrey.
