A social media website ‘The Studio Exec’ published an article on 25th April 2015 indicating that the cosplay hobby restricted in at least five states in the United States. This kind of news started circulation on a large scale on the social media websites in the month of January 2016. San Diego has been considered as most rapidly famous for hobby of Cosplay, it a shot form of ‘costume play’. It involves adult’s crowd to wear costumes inspired by their preferred films and TV shows. Now, it has been illegal in five states in the United States including Delaware, Kansas, New Mexico, Ohio and Colorado.

Some of the major reasons are supposed as motivations have been banned due to issues of changing behavior and health. The governor of New Mexico, Susana Martinez issued a statement that we have experienced that a number of adults are adopting dressing up as Captain Jack Sparrow and Padme dressing is looking backward. Most of the Cosplay lovers responded with anger and protested against this step. The Chairperson of American Cosplay Association, Mark Jerkins said that we are all adults and we enjoy dressing up such kinds of costumes and it takes us in a fictional world. But, we found that name of Chairperson of American Cosplay Association is not Mark Jerkins and it is considered as false news.
