The acting U.S Attorney General Sally Quillian Yates Fired by Trump

On 30^th January 2017, the U.S President Donald Trump has fired Sally Quillian Yates (acting attorney general). Reports indicated that she was fired after a couple of hours of her refusal to defend a controversial immigration ban and Trump said that she had betrayed the Trump administration. Yates wrote a letter to Justice Department of lawyers and said that she was not convinced to defend the executive order because it wasn’t her responsibility. She also said that she wasn’t convinced due to the executive order was colliding with the U.S law, so it was considered illegal. It is important that the press secretary of White House, Sean Spicer contacted to State Department officials and warned them that they should agree with the agenda of Trump, otherwise they should leave their jobs.

Yates was considered the top Senate-confirmed justice official and she was a holdover from the administration of Obama. The White House said in a statement that “the acting Attorney General, Sally Yates has deceived the Department of Justice by rejecting to forcefully implement a legal order because this order was especially designed to protect the people of the United States”. Point to be noted that Yates was appointed by the Obama administration. She was not enough strong on border and illegal immigration issues. The controversial executive order of Trump bars citizens temporarily of at least 7 Muslim population countries for entering the United States. The refugee admissions and refugees program were also temporarily suspended by this executive order.
