Honor has recently teased the launch of its 2nd foldable flagship smartphone. The Chinese smartphone manufacturer has supposedly planned to announce the Honor Magic Vs version. The upcoming smartphone will reportedly feature a single foldable screen and is expected to arrive on November 24 in mainland China. On Thursday, the company shared a statement and a teasing video clip.

However, the device is a continuation of the original Magic V foldable smartphone of Honor. Keep in mind that the above-mentioned smartphone successfully hit the market earlier this year. The upcoming foldable device is a checkup departure from the design offered for its predecessor. The initial version featured dual screens in a design similar to the Galaxy Fold 4 smartphone of Samsung.

Honor’s Key Rivals are Mate XS 2 and Mi Mix Fold 2

Honor also launched single foldable-screen smartphones with multiple designs along with colleague Chinese competitors, Huawei and Xiaomi. Huawei presented Mate XS 2 featuring a wraparound design. However, Xiaomi offered Mi Mix Fold 2 presenting a book-style design. Most foldable smartphones would probably become slimmer with a single-screen design option.

These types of foldable smartphones are easier to carry around. However, a single-screen and lightweight features could help push the smartphone towards the mainstream. It is noteworthy that Honor was formerly a sub-brand of Chinese tech giant Huawei. But Honor made a separation from its parent company in the month of November 2020.

Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Owns Honor

Meanwhile, the company was sold out to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology in November 2020. The sale took place at a time when consumer business of Huawei was confused about staying drifting. Trump administration’s stricter sanctions were supposedly behind the situation. Those sanctions featured measures designed for the global chip supply of the Chinese telecom giant.

Moreover, a reliable news outlet phonearena.com also reported a similar story. The outlet said news broke out earlier this week regarding a supposedly planned announcement event in China. The news suggested that Honor is planning to announce its more advanced flagship smartphone this month. The announcement will assumingly include the Magic 5 series of smartphones.

The Magic Vs is Scheduled to Announce Next Week

The latest information claims the Magic Vs is expected to announce on November 23. It is noteworthy that the news actually came directly from the company through Weibo, along with an image. The image of a majestic phoenix showed the screen of a brand-new foldable smartphone. However, the company hasn’t yet released the exact specs but the marketing image suggests advancements.

The upcoming foldable smartphone is thin and lightweight. In the past, most foldable smartphones have always had this attractive look when folded. But people are seemingly headed to an era where this is no longer the case because of their purposeful nature. However, people will find a hole-punch-style front-facing selfie camera on the right side of the smartphone after unfolding it.

Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 also Features a Thin Design

Meanwhile, the recently announced Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 doesn’t feature an inner camera unit but successfully presented a significantly thin design. The last foldable smartphone from Honor was the Magic V. This version featured specs much similar to its competitor Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The device was instantly available in 3 unique versions with traditionally different texture and color options.

However, the recently teased image shows a stylish matte gold finish on the metallic frame of the smartphone. But people should have to wait until the scheduled event on 23rd November to discover more information. Most experts believe the upcoming announcement will also include the Magic 5 smartphone appearance with supposedly more advanced features.
