Listen to this article

The Obama administration successfully negotiated with Iran to release four Americans. These Americans were imprisoned in Iran and they were released in exchange with the release of 7 Iranians that were imprisoned in the United States. There were 5 Americans imprisoned in Iran and the 5th American will be released separately. At the same time, the U.S also delivered the amount of 400 million U.S dollars of multiple currencies to Tehran. There were also a number of conspiracies regarding the timing of delivery. The transferred money was considered the result of settlement for long time awaited claim between Iran and the U.S.

This settlement was considered a specific diplomatic deal between both sides. The White House also commented on the money transfer. On 19th January 2016, the daily briefing representative of White House Josh Earnest also declared information regarding the transfer of money. Originally, the money was physically delivered to Iran in different currencies. Point to be noted that the major factor behind the transfer of money in different currencies was due to the sanctions of the Treasury Department that banned the transactions with Iran using American Currency. The International sanctions also prevented Iran to reach the international financial markets. It is important that those sanctions were lifted in the month of January 2016.
